Dream Weddings

Wether embarking on a small civil ceremony with your closest family or a lavish wedding with all the trimmings and masses of wedding decorations, planning your wedding is no easy task. Bringing together so many different services from wedding photographers, to caterers can be time consuming, and stressful. Which, is why it is so important that everything runs according to plan on your special day.

Wedding Planning and Services

This is why "From Engagement To Wedding was Born"! On our website you will not only find useful advice and articles relating to everything from engagement ideas to wedding decoration plans and honeymoon advice, but you will also find a whole range of resources that are trusted and come with personal recommendations and testimonials. Please note that feeds from other wedding sites are beyond our control.

Let me offer you a little background on this website and some advice if your are starting your wedding planning. I am to be married on November 22nd 2008. My fiancee and I are in the process of comparing services, prices and trying to find companies that have personal recommendations so we can ensure they will deliver as promised. We have found very quickly that planning for a wedding is extremely difficult and the hardest point is finding somewhere to start. At first we set a budget, however this was not a good idea as we had no way of gauging what the cost was going to be until we had done a little research. I wanted to use my own personal experience along with others to provide a 'one-stop' quality resource for couples planning their wedding. That's why every service on this website either has my personal recommendation or has been given glowing reviews by at least 3 other users.

Luckily enough, in the UK there are regular wedding fayres at various times of the year that take place up and down the country. These usually take place in a venue that offer wedding ceremony services and are filled with wedding dress makers, wedding photographers, wedding DJ's, wedding caterers, Wedding Decoration Planners, Wedding car companies, and much, much more. You are garaunteed to find any service you could require. This is without a doubt the best place to start looking and get a feel for pricing. Be careful when you first visit! It is very easy to be drawn to one particular option before you have had a chance to explore what's available. For example, we found a wedding photographer that offered everything we thought we wanted. However, at the last wedding fayre we attended, Another photographer offered a very similar package but gave the option of purchasing a DVD slideshow of our wedding album. Thinking this would be a great alternative to send to our close family and friends we cancelled the previous plan and took this option instead. So, try to visit at minimum of 3 wedding fayres at least 1 year before the date of your wedding.

Tips on getting discount wedding invitations.

Choosing your wedding invitations is an important part of your big plan because this is what will give your wedding guests their first impression of what your actual wedding day is going to be like. It has been mentioned elsewhere on this site that a wedding invitation where possible, should really reflect the theme of your wedding. Wedding invitations are more than just an invite to your guests. They are a keepsake of your special day that everyone can have. Having said all this, the right wedding invitation doesn't have to cost you a fortune.

There are many parts of your wedding that will require a big budget, so getting discount wedding invitations is one way of saving yourself a few dollars (or pounds) that can be spent elsewhere. The range and styles of discount wedding invitation is enourmous and choosing a particular one can be very confusing. But, if you follow these guidelines you should find your decision making far easier. The main key here is to be prudent and to not let yourself get carried away with the hundreds of optional extras you will no doubt encounter. As mentioned earlier, your primary consideration in choosing a wedding invitation style is the theme and motif of your wedding.

Is your wedding small and simple or are you trying to create that big effect? Will it be a light or formal occasion? In addition to this, it also depends on personal taste and of course budget. But whatever your taste or budget range is, you will definitely be able to find a good wedding invitation without going over the top. One great way of getting this done, is to buy some cards and design your own invitation by buying a printing kit which is offered by many wedding service providers. Or, if like me you are not particularly skilled at arts and crafts, get a friend to do it as their wedding gift to you. Work with them to help them determine the kind of wedding you'll be having.

Your type of wedding invitation will largely depend on whether you will have a traditional or modern wedding. Traditional weddings would require a more formal invitation. On the other hand, a modern wedding will call for a more modern kind of wedding invitation. Traditional wedding invitations would only contain texts. It wouldn't contain any graphics. Traditional wedding invitations are usually upright and folded with the words engraved on the right side. Cards used in traditional wedding invitations are usually white or cream and the letterings are in silver and black. If you are having a themes wedding then choose a wedding invitation that is appropriate for your chosen theme. For example, you can have a sixteenth century scrolled parchment wedding invitation if the theme of your wedding is Tudor.

Choosing a supplier:
Wedding invitations can be obtained by mail order, printer, stationers and stationery designers or you can buy online. Choose a supplier hat provides value added services and features so you will get real value for your money. Talk with your supplier as some of them will actually help you write the wording in your wedding invitation. Some will even help you with wedding etiquette rules and would help you if you are confused about all the etiquette rules involved in sending out wedding invitations. Choose a supplier that can offer you a personalized service so you can be sure that you are not getting run of the mill wedding invitation. A good discount wedding invitation supplier will also respond to your enquiries and requests promptly either through email or by phone. But your privacy must always be requested so make sure that any personal information you provide to them is used for the sole purpose of processing your order. Your order must be transmitted across a secure server, so your billing information is kept private.
