Bridal Gowns

I think we all know that when looking for bridal gowns, it may take 10 mins or 10 months to find the dress that's right for you. But, when you do find it you will know straight away that it is the dress you have always wanted. This article tells a lovely story containing a perfect example of a lady who bought the dress she had dreamed of since she was a child. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Most little girls dream about their future weddings and they all want the fairytale to come true for them. Some little girls, including me, cut out pictures of things that they may someday want for their wedding and keep them in a special place to look at later on in life. I remember when my 20-year old sister was planning her wedding. I was 11 years old. I had cut out lots of pictures of bridal gowns and flowers, cakes and wedding decorations that I wanted to keep in case I ever got married. Like most girls of that age, I wasn’t really into boys then, but I figured that I might like them someday, and I still somehow loved the idea of a wedding.

Now, I’m at the age of 22 and planning my own wedding. I pulled out that old cardboard box of pictures I’d kept from my sister’s wedding and smiled at all of them. Some of them were definitely out of style, but others gave me some wonderful ideas. Suddenly, I found myself looking through bridal magazines looking to plan my own fairytale wedding.

My first task was to go shopping abd find the the perfect gown. Until this point, I had no idea that there were so many bridal gowns in existence. I guess I’d never really given much thought to the pages and pages of gowns in all of those wedding magazines.

Finding My Bridal Gown

I walked into the county’s biggest and most popular bridal shop and very nearly walked right back out again. There were bridal gowns in every corner of that store and made me feel very intimidated. So, my mother took me to the first corner and suggested that I start just browsing, to see if anything jumps out at me. Nothing did. For the first hour, I was still too overwhelmed by all of the bridal gowns to narrow anything down properly.

The sales people kept making suggestions for me but I wanted to find something on my own. They finally got the hint in the end and left me alone with my own thoughts and fantasies. After another hour, I’d selected four bridal gowns that I felt were elegant enough to try on. With the help of a very nice saleslady and my mother, I tried on each one. The final gown that I put on was totally stunning. I looked in the mirror and gasped. I knew just by glancing in the mirror that it was meant to be my wedding gown. My mother’s eyes met mine and she nodded. The ironic part was that the picture of the perfect dress that I’d been holding since I was 11 years old, looked very similar to this one. Maybe at the age of 11, I already knew exactly what I wanted. I didn’t need to look through hundreds of bridal gowns to figure that out.
